A self-made successful businesswoman, born in outback Queensland who moved to Darwin 33 years ago and 18 years ago started her business as a way of generating income for their young family.  She is passionate, enthusiastic, energetic and colorful even when she is not in her award winning garden centre.

I have been working in the horticulture industry for over thirty years. I managed one of the largest retail/wholesale nurseries in Adelaide for 20 years. I moved to Darwin 5 years ago to work at Allora Gardens Nursery. My expertise includes propagation, growing on, plant fertilising, weeding and pesticide schedules, landscape design and construction and garden advisory just to name a few.

Peta started at Allora gardens nursery at 15 years of age as an apprentice in 2008 while doing year 11 and 12 studies. After she completed that she went on to further her studies in horticulture. In which she completed a 3 year course and is now qualified as a certificate 3 horticulturalist. Her skills include propagation, potting/growing, customer service, fertilizing, pruning, plant displays, landscape planning and designing.

Nursery Team I have been a chef for 19 years, and worked for Estelle since 2008. I got interested in growing bonsais and thought about doing my studies in horticulture. My specialties are bonsai and edible plants.

Megan Bliss is an apprentice at Allora Gardens Nursery. She is currently completing her certificate 3 in horticulture this year. She has been working in the industry here at Allora for nearly three years. Having a passion for health, fitness, gardening, photography.

As she completed year 12 in 2006, she became a dental nurse, learned a lot and moved on 3 years later, became an assistant manager at Athletes Foot. Again  three years later moved on to something more exciting outdoors. Still lost in what she wanted to do in life, she figured horticulture would be another exciting change. She now has a wide range of knowledge in the industry and many skills that include, propagation, plant displays, potting, customer service, fertilizing, pruning and landscape planning and designing.

Edgar is 44 years old and from the Philippines. He is married with 4 kid’s 3 boys 1 girl. He has been at Allora Gardens Nursery for 3 years. His skills include landscaping and production and more.

He believes in the saying “Actions speaks louder than words” and “Tomorrows rewards are built from today’s sacrifices”.

My name is Alex, I was born in Italy.
I frequented the school of Art Course Majoring in Architecture. I have been working in horticulture since 2009.  At the beginning of 2011 I worked in a nursery specialized of Native Plants from W.A.  
In the same year I started to work at Allora Gardens Nursery.  I have experience in landscaping and irrigation.

Born and raised in Italy, after her schooling in Milan, Clara decided to leave the city and move in Tuscany, where she completed a degree course in Plant Nursery Technique at the University of Florence. After the degree she continued studying Garden design, becoming a qualified gardener in historical gardens restoration and maintenance.

After a year of collaboration with a landscape architect, she realized that her calling was not to stay in front of a computer screen and started work in a private Villa like gardener for two years. After that she works in a garden center - plant nursery for two years before deciding to come to Australia to built a new future.
