Growing Hibiscus plants is an easy way to add a tropical feeling to your garden! When you know how to properly care for these beautiful plants you will be rewarded with years of bursting blooms!
Hibiscus plants LOVE sun! And of course a little afternoon shade is ok if it is in a very warm location but always keep in mind that if you want to see those beautiful flowers then they need access to more than 6 hours of sun everyday.
When hibiscus are in their flowering stage they will require more water than usual, if you have them in containers you can always check to see if they need water by placing your finger in the soil. If it is still damp you won't need to water them. Remember they love good drainage so don't kill them with kindness.
Last but not least, don't forget that to produce beautiful flowers Hibiscus need feeding! You can use a high potassium fertilizer or a slow release fertilizer.
